Bulawayo Food for Thought seminar [Role of creativity in empowering and developing girls] by Mbizo Chirasha   Thursday the 13th of October was a hive of activity at the Bulawayo public library where the American corner is situated, the Girlchildcreativity project director gave a vibrating and thought provoking session to a crowd of participants that was well represented by educationists, academics, child development activists and the media. The discussions centered on how to foster creativity to the girl child, the importance of empowering the girl child through creativity, talent identification and other models of mental development, the role of parents and teachers in stimulating creativity in children. The GirlChild Creativity project is growing in leaps and bounds. A number of discoveries, programs and activities are being witnessed by our Zimbabwean community through its efforts. Creativity motivational workshop/29 TH 0F September 2011 Organized by Girlchildcreativity project Thrust- creative social responsibility and community transformation through creativity/art. -the workshop participants will   be   work shopped on the   role of creativity and arts in empowering communities and also on how poetry and creativity can transform communities   from situations like hunger and poverty   . Participants will have a writer’s session that will see their workshop writings being published in a small book to also further continue developing literacy and readership culture.
