Speaking Out Women/Girls Resilience through poetry- Journal

December is a very busy month for poets and creative arts organizers. This the time when poets and artists  showcase their solidarity with women ,girl empowerment organizations and other community development project  to realizing the resilience displayed  by these organizations in fighting  against gender based violence/16 days of gender activism, resilience against HIV/AIDS pandemic/World Aids Day, Conservation of environment/National Tree Planting Day. Women have played a very scintillating role in defending the lives of their communities through various activities. A group of poets  both male and female Poetic License 365  are complimenting the excellent and  resilient work women are doing with a  well packed , iconic poetry evening, a volcanic mixture of known and unknown voices. A voices fiesta for Girl Child Creativity @ 1st Floor Gallery

byKundai Marunya   Girl right advocate organization Girl Child Creativity (GCC) last night closed its week-long mentor ship program with their Voices Fiesta at the First Floor Gallery. More than 30 people, including school children, educators, artists and art lovers, attended the event. Students from Vainona High, Budiriro 3 Primary and Vista Vision College showcased their talents along the theme of promoting the rights of girl children. Students from Vista Vision College staged a mini theatre play, outlining how issues that affect women are often handled by men who do not understand them. Their performance, which was filled with humor, managed to bring the audience’s attention to things that are often overlooked. Budiriro primary school students brought to the table what they had learnt from legendary writer Aaron Chiunduramoyo. Their presentation of poetry and short stories in both English and Shona caused celebrated writer and journalist Tinashe Muchuri to break
DAY 3- Public Press Update with Zanele Mutema and Mbizo Chirasha GirlchildVoices Fiesta100tpc 2013 season. Our program began at 1130    am at the First Floor gallery   facilitated by   Zimbabwean Poet and Coordinator Mbizo Chirasha and Zanele Mutema taking the Vision College Students and other participants through    a journey of   visual arts   creations . She have done a lot exhibitions in Harare    and outside Harare. She is into mixed media. Students got much inspiration from her exhibition that is currently running at the First Floor Gallery. She answered a lot of burning questions from eager students . Questions on art and community development, Questions on art and sustainability, Questions on art and survival. Then Mbizo   Chirasha gave a participatory intervention   on how to grow ideas into works of arts. He touched    on the development of    literary arts and literacy in Zimbabwe. DAY 2 Press and Public update- Vainona High School

GirlchildVoices Fiesta -100TPC 2013 Season Thursday the 4 th of October saw a delegation of highly talented young Zimbabweans. Kresiah Destiny Mkwazhi [ Photographer and Visual Artist], Mbizo Chirasha[ Coordinator and Project Curator ],Robson Shoes Lambada[ Prominent  Young Poet ,  writer and Coordinator of Zimbabwe Poets for Human Rights ],Kudzai Mutiti[ Assistant Coordinator ] arriving at Vainona high school  during mid day to meet their host Ms Synodia Masinyani  the patron of the Writers Club at Vainiona and  12 female participants  to take part in Photo –Poetry-Writing  Skills  and motivational workshops  facilitated by  Shoes Lambada and Kresiah Mkwazhi. Upon arrival Mbizo Chirasha narrated the important of the mission and the whole scope of the project. Shoes Lambada  gave a classic lecture and presentation on issues that have to deal with  poetry composition ,  aspects of poetry writing , clichés and basics on performance poetry .He ended his mesmerizing

Day 1 GirlChildVoices Fiesta  Activity Update Shona Literary legend , Novelist , Writer ,Poet  , Filmmaker and Dramatist Aaron Chiundura Moyo   opened  the   Girl child Voices Fiesta – 100TPC 2013 with a bang at Budiriro3 Primary school in the high density suburb of Harare ,Zimbabwe  today from 215 pm to 430 pm. The 2013 program is hive of activities with the theme Defining girlchildVoices through Artistic Fusion , shaping artistic skills and development girl child talent in schools and bring them for final day to celebrate what they created in workshops and receive certificates to motivate and inspire them horning their creativity. Chiundura opened his facilitation by saying “ndainzi Matanda  mufirim u ndabvez era” .He acted in1989 with the Great Ambuya Mlambo. The Zimbabwean 100 Thousand Poets for Change is run as GirlchildVoices Fiesta in Zimbabwe every year 28th of September  every year. GirlchildCreativity Project was asked to be part of this program because they are working hard to develop ,motivate and inspire  young girls to define their voices  , find their space the creative , arts and literary prowess. Urban Colleges Writers Prize - project to identify, motivate and develop   in colleges and schools                                                   The project started in January 2013 and ending June  annually  Zimbabwe- Nigeria Literary Exchange – is    founded and implemented by Young authors association of Nigeria                                                           -  It is    project that seek to publish a poetry anthology of young voices  GirlChildVoices Fiesta - celebrations of musical and poetry talent by young female artists                                       - Collaboration with 100 Thousand Poets for Change annually event.
